Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been earned on hard courts
A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his initial title for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has had a challenging period, achieving just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.
His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in especial - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with former coach Gilles Cervara.
Now collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, he has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought competitive victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's maiden title after the Rome competition and initial on a hard court from spring of that year.
The win also indicates Medvedev has achieved 21 championships at 21 distinct tournaments.
"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my children together, so to secure a trophy is really nice," said tennis professional the champion.
"This title is in honour of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my child Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six title deciders, including in that event earlier this year.
His defensive strategy and regular outbursts on the playing surface had caused some to wonder if his capacity to play at the top level was finished.
Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and compete aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.
Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, taking four of the final five points to go ahead.
The pair traded breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his maiden professional championship, gained dominance to force a final set.
Moutet rescued four early chances in a close deciding set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.
Suitably, the winner earned victory with a rally at the net area, with Moutet incapable to control a volley after over two and a half hours.
